Cards for the men.

Hello everyone

I hope you all had a peaceful and restful Christmas, and are ready this new year to craft, create, and generally have fun!

This week on our polkadoodles challenge, I have made a mens card for a birthday as inspiration. this is using some stamps from my stash that I have reinvigorated to make something different. Our challenge runs for two weeks and to enter you can use any supplies, from any craft company, in any theme - it's always anything goes!  The winner and some runners-up get freebies.  Please, hop on over to our blog for easy entry.

You don't have to have a blog, you can enter a link from any social media!

The stamp soup range from Polkadoodles is so versatile, you can make everything from houses to birds, and in my case balloons and presents!  all made in blues and greys it is perfect for a teenager or any male relative to say big birthday wishes!

I used two of the sets - flowers and things and rainbows

I also used the sentiment stamp Happy Birthday from Happy Birthday layering stamps

Coloured using glitter sparkle pens for a rich sparkle but not too much as it's a male card.

Joy!

 Hello crafting friends

This week at polkadoodles, the DT were challenged with a colour themed Christmas card. pinks, greens and teals!

I used the clear stamp called 'winter noel'   I ink blended distress oxides (kitsch flamingo into Salvaged Patina) onto a sheet of textured card stock.  I masked the edges before so i could create a rectangle in the top third of my blank card..

I then used my stamping tool to give a good clear impression with versafine onyx black ink., using too of the stamps from the set along with the word joy.  I dug through my stash for the words at Christmas time.   I trimmed the panel and added a black mat behind, before mounting onto a 5x7 card.

I just love the CAS feel of this.

I'd like to enter this into:

Funky florals

Hello Crafting friends

It is again time for another challenge over at Polkadoodles with our famous anything-goes challenge.  The DT team this week were challenged to use 'things' rather than people or characters so I pulled out my funky flower stamps to complete this CAS card.

The staps have a supporting stencil you can use to colour them but on this, I just used some alcohol markers and a bit of shimmer pen.  I then fussy cut the flowers out and added them to the card blank.  I then realized it was missing something so I doodled the edge in a black fine liner to make them pop!

Melon friends

 Hi everyone

Just dropping in today to share a cute card I made using a Gerda Steiner stamp called Melon friends

I stamped and coloured my image using copic markers and then fussy cut them all out.

The background - I used a Mama elephant die set called mod heart which cuts out a stripy heart leaving a stitched heart aperture.  So... I got out my scissors again and fussy cut around the outline of the stitching to create a frame..

The card background was made using a woodware die, an aall and create die and some red festive berries distress oxide, splattered.

To finish the cute dino, I used glossy accents on his eyes to add shine and dimension.

A cuddle makes it all better....

Happy new year crafting friends!

I hope everyone had a peaceful Christmas break and are looking forward to a prosperous and craft filled 2023!

Today I am sharing a cutie from the All dressed up range called 'a cuddle makes it all better' available from Etsy

This is to mark our first All dressed up Facebook challenge of the year. Our friendly group showcase Wendy's designs and you can enter our themed challenge (this month is cute so most of Wendy's images will qualify)

After colouring the sweet girl and her puppy with a combination of spectrum noir brush markers and copics, I fussy cut around them.  The background is a brick stencil using abandoned coral oxide ink and I stamped a sentiment from an Aall and create set in the corner.  To finish I added a fine liner border also in a coral colour and the sequins for some shine.

Bundle of Joy

 Hello crafters

Today I'm sharing the latest DT inspiration for our Facebook challenge over at all dressed up.  Each month on the 1st we have a new theme for you to make projects for and enter for a chance to win some images from the fabulous Wendy Burns.

This month our theme is clean and simple.

I do love a CAS card, and here is mine using a stamp called night night little one

I printed the image and coloured with copics and Spectrum noir tri blend brush markers

The paper is from my stash and the sentiment stamp is from a waltzing mouse set that I have had for around 15 years!

The only other finishing touch was a clear glitter sparkle pen on the flower and on the pads of her feet.

Happy everything!

Hi Crafters

I made this CAS card using two new stamp sets.  I went to the Motorcycle museum in March (or was it February...)  for the first craft show since lockdown... its so good to be able to browse and bag some bargains!

Both of these stamp sets are new to me.  The mouse is from Pink ink designs and is called sleepy mouse.  The sentiment is from Claire Manning design.  The solid happy can be used in many colours, but the script bit is interchangeable so it could say happy birthday, anniversary, Easter or in this case just happy everything!

I stamped the 'Happy' in Catherine pooler ink (Royal treatment) and added the scripty bit in versa fine black ink.  The image was stamped and coloured with Copics.

I think the purple just stands out perfectly.

I have another couple of stamp sets from both designers so will be making something very soon! - if you want to see it first, then please subscribe to my other social media channels as things get posted there more regularly.

Best frock!

Hello Crafting friends

It is again time to showcase Wendy's latest release from All dressed up, and this time there are some really elegant ladies as well as some total cuties!

I used a set called  best frocks.  This is a great set as there are three elegant ladies together, or you can use them separately.  I used one on its own.  I though she as so demure that she needed nothing but black and sparkle to pull off the evening gown look!

I printed her out and coloured with Copics, before adding tonic shimmer all over her frock.  The sentiment was printed at the same time as the image.

I added some stripy card down the side and a thin strip of metallic red to make it all pop!

You can buy this and all other new releases (as well as tons of other beautiful images!) over in our etsy store.  Please check it out!

Here are the full set of images in the new release.

Monster celebration

 Hi crafting friends

Welcome back for another make from the desk of the glittery pink craft room, today its a nice clean and simple one using a Tracey Hey stamp set called 'out of this world'

I stamped the cute alien (there's also the sweetest robot in this set) and coloured him using copic markers, then I fussy cut him out and edged around the cut image with black marker pen.

On the card front I used twisted citron distress oxide ink through a i-craft brick stencil.  I stamped the black squiggles and hearts.  These are also part of the stamp set, all finished with a sentiment from the same set.

I hope you like him - he's so adorable!

Last GDT post for colour crazy

 Hi everyone

Its my last GDT post for colour crazy challenge and I'm using the very lovely All dressed up images who are sponsoring the blog challenge here:

New year, new me is a great stamp, not just for new year, if you remove the sentiment from the stamp like I have then you can give it to any of your fitness girl friends, and colour it match their skin and hair tones.

Our challenge runs for two weeks and is anything goes as long as its coloured.

I made this by colouring her with Copics and Prismacolour pencils, before fussy cutting her out.

I die cut a circle to add her too with foam pads.  I used a Kanban paper pad for the Blue heart background, as well as a grey striped paper strip, matted and layered onto the card front, finished with three pearls and a mama elephant tiny sentiment stamp

I hope you like it!

GDT Colour crazy challenge - Gerbera

 Hello crafting friends

I hope you are all wrapped up warm and staying indoors in this miserable weather! Unless of course you are in the Southern Hemisphere in which case -I'm very jealous!

It is once again time for the colour crazy challenge blog to host a new weekly challenge, and this week we are sponsored by the lovely Sheepski designs (Thank you Andrea for this gorgeous image!).

I wanted this image to be simply beautiful all on its own, so I made this:

Its coloured with a combination of copics and Prismacolour pencils.  I then fussy cut it out and popped it onto a card with foam tape.

I tamped a simple happy birthday greeting from my stash, and drew a wobbly line in black fine liner to finish it off.

I just love how dimensional it looks!

To join in our challenge, hop on over to Colour crazy challenge blog its always Anything goes, so you can create all type of projects (as long as you colour something!) to be in with a chance of winning images from Sheepski designs.

Clean and simple floral design

 Hi everyone

I thought I would today share a clean and simple floral card, that I absolutely love.  Happy yellows and blues, with lots of white space, it makes my heart very happy!

Ingredients

  • Stamps
    • Oakwood archer - distress texture back ground stamp
    • Oakwood archer - distress type stamp
    • Oakwood archer - distress circle background
  • Dies
    • Oakwood archer rose die set
    • Oakwood archer ladybird die set
  • Yellow Nuvo drops
I stamped the yellow distress background onto a piece of card slightly smaller than DL and then stamped the circle/dots in blue over it.  I then stamped the bigger circle and left he panel to dry.

I die cut the leaf from the rose set in green card stock and the flowers from the ladybird set in white, and added a bit of colour.  To add dimension I used my embossing tool to shape them.

Finally I matted the DL card onto some pearlescent yellow card, and used the off cut strips to stamp my sentiment.  I then glued the whole thing together.

I hope you like it

Play date

 Hello friends

Me again - with a just for fun colouring of playdate from All dressed up (you can find here here on Etsy)

I just love this image - she's so sassy.  She looks like she has bags of attitude and I couldn't wait to colour her in!

Ingredients

  • All dressed up digi stamp - playdate
  • pink spotty paper from my stash
  • Lili of the valley - everyday sentiments
  • Coloured with copics and Polychromos pencils
  • Tattered lace stitched rectangle die

I printed her out and coloured her with a base of copics.  I used a couple of different shades for each, but only to put in basic shadows.  I then went over it with my Faber Castel Polychromos pencils to add more depth to the image and build up the texture in her hair.  I used the white pencil to add extra highlight on the bow and her skirt.  I just love the effect.

I fussy cut her out and mounted her onto a piece of black card and added just a hint of white pigment ink behind her (just what was left on my brush) to soften the black.

Matted and layered the pink spotty also on black and fussy cut out the sentiment from the sheet I printed and then using glue and foam pads assembled the card.  Once I had left it overnight I realised I wanted her to have super black sunglasses so I used my black Nuvo drops to add shine and dimension.

I hope you love this image as much as I do.

Exciting news - GDT at colour crazy

 Hello everyone

So.... I have some super exciting news.... I have been invited to take part in a three month Guest Designer Team spot with the colour crazy challenge.

These ladies have made me feel so welcome already and have some amazing sponsors lined up. The challenge is Anything goes, you just need to colour something!  so simple and easy!

My first post is using this adorable image from Ching-Chou Kuik and it is called Snowflake Dollie

Ingredients

  • Digi image Ching-Chou-Kuik
  • Coloured with copics and Polychromos pencils
  • Digi printed sentiment
  • Background splatters with a Sheena Douglas shimmer pen (summer sky)

This image was so detailed and intricate I didn’t want to distract from her with loads of embellishments and patterns, but I did know she needed to sparkle, and then sparkle some more!

I printed the background panel after designing it on Craft artist, and then printed two further images so I could colour and decoupage them for dimension.

Each was coloured firstly with copics then details added with my pencils to add depth, especially on her folds of her dress.

I then added splatters to the background panel and layered the princess together using foam pads.

The while thing was matted onto some silver glitter card, and extra sparkle added with simmer pens, and stickles in a variety of colours.  The photos don’t do the sparkle justice on this.  It shines!

I'd like to enter this into

If you want more information on the sponsors than please visit their Etsy page, otherwise, I'd love to see what you create and enter into our challenge.

Leave me some love, either here on on my other Social media pages, otherwise I'll see you back here for more makes from the desk of the glittery pink craft room!

I wish you a merry Merry Christmoose

Hello Crafting friends

Welcome back for more inspiration.  This time its another Christmas card but made in muted greys and blues using a MFT stamp set.

Ingredients

  • My favourite things Merry Christmoose
  • Coloured with spectrum noir tri blend brush markers
  • Scraps from my blue paper stash
  • Tattered lace basic stitched circle die
  • Clear embossing ink and white wow embossing powder

I was lacking a bit of inspiration so did some searches on Pinterest for sketches.  I found this sketch originally for a square card, so I modified it and came up this idea.

I stamped the images, coloured with alcohol markers, and cut out with the matching dies.

I had some scraps of grey left from a previous project and wanted to team them with blue, so on digging through my scraps found some perfect paper to match.

I trimmed the banners by hand and cut them to size, and using a stitched die I cut out a circle, a scrap of grey to emboss my greeting on

I then layered everything together using foam pads, glue, and tape runner.

I love the CAS feel to this, it’s a great masculine Christmas card.

I'd like to enter into the following challenges:

If you have found your way here, you might as well let me know and leave me a comment in the box below.  If you want more without all the blah, then maybe Instagram or Facebook is better.  All my links are on the page before.  I’d love to see you there!

Sip, Sip, Hooray!

Hello Crafting friends,

Welcome back to my blog for another card.  This time using Edna from Stamping Bella.

My friend asked me if I could make a card for a friend who liked gin (well who doesn't!) and I made a selection of cards for her to choose from.  After making the one below (but in a blue colour) I decided I would make it again in pink and keep one in my stash.

 Ingredients

  • Stamping bella - Edna needs a martini
  • Distress ink - Kitch flamingo
  • Stencil from the range
  • Sequins from my stash
  • Coloured with spectrum noir triblend brush markers

I used my craft artist software to draw and frame in black and add the sip, sip, hooray sentiment in various fonts onto the bottom of the card, and printed this out.

After cutting to size I used my stencil and a light hand to add pink bubbles in the background.

Edna was stamped and coloured, and stickles added to her wings for added sparkle.  I then fussy cut her out and added her with foam pads onto the background, finishing with a few pink sparkly sequins to complete the card.

Isn't she just adorable, a girl after my own heart!

I'd like to enter her into:

I'll be gnome for christmas

Hi Crafting friends

Welcome back to my blog - and this time, another Christmas card

The first thing to point out is that I love gnomes… I mean I really love them.  Every time a new stamp set comes out with gnomes I have to stop myself from buying it.  I have to remind myself I have loads already, for many themes, however when I saw this stamping Bella gnomie set with the cute antlers, there was no resisting!

Ingredients

·         Stamped with - Stamping Bella – gnomedeer

·         Coloured with – spectrum noir triblend brush markers

·         Stencil – the range

·         Ink – shaded lilac distress ink

·         Glitter -Chloe sparklicious princess

I stamped the gnomes and coloured them in with fairly muted delicate shades.  I added some tiny white gel pen spots on their noses for interest.

I then used the ink and a blending brush to very lightly go over the snowflake stencil, just to give a bit of colour behind the gnomes and stamped the greeting that comes with the stamp set.

I then added my gnomes with foam tape for dimension.  I then realised it was still missing something… so I used a glue pen to run around the edge of the card, and sprinkled the chunky glitter which in the light , shines in different colours.  All added to a 5x7" card, and another simple but gorgeous card completed.

Thank you so much for stopping by

I’d like to enter this into:

You Rock!

Hello Everyone

Hope you're all doing well.  I'm just recovering from a really nasty cold/flu.  It started last week and today is the first day I've even been able to craft... that's how poorly I was with it!

I'm stopping by with another cute dino card - I made loads of these and kept them in the bank for when I wouldn't be able to make something (or for those occasions when our mojo just ups and leaves!).

This one is using one of my favourite Mama elephant sets called me and my dinosaur.

Ingredients

  • Stamps
    • Mama elephant Me and my dinosaur
    • Little Dino agenda
    • Paper smooches Sentiment sampler
  • coloured with Spectrum noir tri-blend brush markers
  • Ink
    • Memento Tuxedo black ink
    • Prized Ribbon distress oxide
    • Chipped Sapphire distress oxide
    • Salvaged patina distress oxide
  • Dark Navy card
  • wow embossing powder
I stamped a selection of images from the stamp sets and coloured them in.  I knew I wanted a splatter background but not across the whole card, so I cut a circle using a die and used this as a stencil so my splatter is only in one place.  I finished this CAS card with a heat embossed sentiment.

Hope you like it!
