Love you a latte.

 Hi, Crafting friends.

I made this while tucked up in the warm, sheltering from Storm Goretti.  We have about 20cm of snow on the ground, and all I could think of was steaming hot coffee!

I used all Polkadoodles dies and stencils to make this.

I started off die-cutting all the bits.  I used a set called Sweet Moments die bundle available here and scalloped rectangles and tags die from here using a combination of plain, coloured, and patterned card stock.

I made up the coffee cups, then using picked raspberry distress ink, and heart wreath stencil I added detail onto the scalloped panel.

I used the sentiment from the coffee set, and stuck it to vellum, before fussing cutting around the whole thing.

I layered it all together using foam pads for dimension, and added stickles for sparkle.

Back to the coffee and keeping warm!

mini moo challenge 2023

 Hi Crafting friends

I have something a bit different to share.  For the last month, I have been participating in the mini moo challenge over at Vera Lane Facebook group.  A mini moo is a little card measuring 2.75 by 1.25 inches so it's tiny.

You really have to think about positioning and how to create texture in the background on a very small scale.

Each day there was a different theme or prompt and the idea was to use Vera lane artwork and a few other craft supplies to make a set of cards to enter a challenge.

The prompts to match the photo below were:

Girly

Dog gone it

winter

crafter

birthday

garden

Holiday

Cats

Home

Black and white

flowers

transportation

Go fish

love

Oh boy

Spring

Face it

Yellow

Lets fly

Monochrome

Dee-licious

For the birds

Vacation

Halloween

Bright colours

Got the blues

sunshine

Fairy tale

trave

Song title

Good books

Each time I look at them I have a new favourite! Today it's the pink one with the flamingo for the beach!

My plan is to now add them to a journal and keep them as artwork

Thank you to #veralanedesigns for a fantastic challenge!

Rebel says hello

 Hi everyone

Not sure if you have seen the latest release from polka doodles, but she is just amazing!  I love the sassy attitude she has - perfect for any teenage girl, in fact, any diva would love this!

I made this using a digi image (there are two types of rebel image, both the sketchy lines like this one and the solid drawn lines) I coloured her using a combination of copics and polychromos pencils and fussy cut her out.  The hearts are from another polkadoodles stamp set called Hoe grown, and the stencil is from the funky flowers release.

I finished the card using some geometric stripy paper and a pop of yellow and added a few glossy accent bubbles around her.

I think she is amazing

Bee mine....

 Hi everyone

Over at Polkadoodles the latest challenge has been launched.  We have some fabulous prizes to be won for the random winner and extras for the Dts favourite.

This time I used the too cute range, with a bee stamp called Bee mine.

In the background I printed the sentiment onto a piece of card and cut it to size, then I used a stencil from the funky flowers range, the border stamp from the Bumpy road stamp set, and the hearts from homegrown

I printed and coloured the image using copics and added detail with a white gel pen.  The background was inked with mustard seed distress oxide.

I then fussy cut the image out before adding foam tape pads for dimension

The border is doodled with a black fine liner, and I coloured the chequered bits in just for a bit of extra black and yellow stripy fun!

I hope you'll join us over at Polkadoodles, we would love to see you there.  If you land here - please leave me a comment so I know you have dropped by!

A cuddle makes it all better....

Happy new year crafting friends!

I hope everyone had a peaceful Christmas break and are looking forward to a prosperous and craft filled 2023!

Today I am sharing a cutie from the All dressed up range called 'a cuddle makes it all better' available from Etsy

This is to mark our first All dressed up Facebook challenge of the year. Our friendly group showcase Wendy's designs and you can enter our themed challenge (this month is cute so most of Wendy's images will qualify)

After colouring the sweet girl and her puppy with a combination of spectrum noir brush markers and copics, I fussy cut around them.  The background is a brick stencil using abandoned coral oxide ink and I stamped a sentiment from an Aall and create set in the corner.  To finish I added a fine liner border also in a coral colour and the sequins for some shine.

Terror-ific

Hello again - I'm back with another spooky themed project!

This autumn gnome can be used for Halloween or just for autumn, but he is so cool and really easy to colour.  If you don't have the time or patience to colour, you can buy him pre-coloured.  Both digi and pre-coloured are available on the poolkadoodles website here:

This is to celebrate the start of our latest challenge over on the polkadoodles blog. where our theme , as ever, is anything goes...

Our DT always have some amazing projects to whet the appetite or if you're feeling a bit uninspired, yu can also check out the shop where every image has a gallery you can look through to help you imagine what you can make with the images! Please pop over and see us!

I firstly printed and coloured him using copics.  I then took the sentiments from the set and some paper and tore it for the central banner.  I decided it needed some interest in the background and grabbed a stencil from my stash and inked through.

All finished with some black Nuvo drops and a doodled border in black fineliner!

I am scheduling this post as I'm away on hols, but i will be back soon with more inspiration! Thanks for stopping by!

See you again soon

Let it snow....

 Hi crafty friends!

I cannot believe it is almost October - this year has flown by.  The new releases have all turned towards Christmas and winter and even the shops have the odd Christmas gifts appearing!

Over at All dressed up, it is again new release time. This time my card is made using this darling image called sledging time, available from etsy

I printed him out and coloured using copics, then fussy cut him out.  I had some backgrounds I made a while ago using stencils, so I tore one up and added some blue mirri card behind and layered for effect.  I finished it with some stickles to look like sparkling snow! The sentiment is a Lili of the valley set - an oldie but goodie!

The other images in this release are:

Crown of hearts
Deer hug
Sledging time

Little Monster

Hello crafting friends

I hope everyone is keeping safe and well out there, its certainly very hot in the UK at the moment again.

Over at Polkadoodles we have a new challenge, as ever its anyhting goes, and we love to see what you create.  I've been looking at the last weeks entries and they are stunning..

You can win some of Nikky's amazing images and even the DT favourites get one each!

Although its blazing hot it won't be long before the nights draw in and hot chocolates become a favourite, so this time my inspiration is an image that can be used for both Halloween and for kids birthdays in general.

He is called Fuzzypea from the little monsters collection.

As soon as I saw him I thought he needed to be green, but then I realised that's very predictable so I coloured him bright red instead! The background is a DL stencil from my stash and I placed it in the middle of the card like a panel, then used festive berries distress oxides to blend.  I wanted more contrast so I drew the squiggly lines down the side and then I splattered with black Gouache too.  So he pops off the page I die cut a piece of vellum and used foam pads to give him dimension.  the sentiment is from the Little Dudes dino - mite pack.  All finished with some black glossy Nuvo drops.

I'd like to enter this into:

Thanks so much for stopping by and reading my ramblings to this point.  For less rambling - check out Instagram, Pinterest of Facebook.  I still show the pictures, but there's much less waffle!

Put your boots on!

 Hello crafting friends

I find no shame in continuing to showcase Christmas cards during the driest July in UK history, especially as my craft room doubles as the present room when it comes around to the big day.  When this happens I end up using only what I can get to from my desk and I'm usually so busy my cards end up a bit pants as I don't spend enough time on them!

I made this using the Christmas festive fun gnomes from Polkadoodles for our latest blog challenge.  You can make anything and use any image all for a chance to win some freebies (our choice) from the massive Polkadoodles range.

This cutie is called 'put your boots on'

I coloured him using Copics in teals and greens then fussy cut him out - edging him with a black pen.

The background is a combination of glitter paste through a star stencil and black nuvo drops.  I then used a Polkadoodles tag die and layered him on top with foam pads.  It was missing an edge, so I doodled all the way around with a black fine liner to add detail.

I can't wait to see your entries in the blog challenge!

A day without creativity....

Hello Crafting friends

Hope that everyone out there in blogland is fit and well.  I've just gotten over COVID.  I did well though I haven’t had it all all since the start of the pandemic, despite working all the way through in retail, but it finally caught up with me.  Feeling much better now!

To cheer everyone up - I though I would share this cutie I made using a digi stamp from Vera Lane, some flowers from a Julie Hickey set, and finally a sentiment and background detail from a Tracey Hey stamp set.

I stamped and printed and the images before colouring them using Copic markers. I used white gel pen for added detail.

I cut a piece of card stock to 6 x 6 inches and scored in half to make a mini slimline card. On the background, I added mustard seed distress oxide ink through a dotty stencil, and using my black ink, stamped the detail down the side. (From the Tracey Hey stamp set called ‘a day without creativity’).

I then layered the flowers on the background before adding the girl. It’s all stuck together with glue and foam pads.

I finally stamped the sentiment at the side in black also and added some Nuvo drops for black spots in the background to add texture and interest.

I hope you like it!

You're tweet

Hello crafting friends

Today I'm sharing a super cute birdie card from a stamp set by Catherine Pooler called 'Toucan do it'

I love anything tropical and this set has a parrot, toucan and this gorgeous cockatiel, as well as some beautiful florals.

I used picked raspberry distress oxide and a dotty stencil in the background and then used a grungy heart stamp from Craftyroo designs to add the black detail.  I then stamped and coloured the cockatiel and some of the flowers from the set, before fussy cutting them out.  I layered them onto a scallop frame die from Lawn fawn (I cut it three times and layered it up for dimension) , continuing to layer up and stick the elements with a combination of glue an foam pads.

Isn't he/she just totally adorable!!

Monster celebration

 Hi crafting friends

Welcome back for another make from the desk of the glittery pink craft room, today its a nice clean and simple one using a Tracey Hey stamp set called 'out of this world'

I stamped the cute alien (there's also the sweetest robot in this set) and coloured him using copic markers, then I fussy cut him out and edged around the cut image with black marker pen.

On the card front I used twisted citron distress oxide ink through a i-craft brick stencil.  I stamped the black squiggles and hearts.  These are also part of the stamp set, all finished with a sentiment from the same set.

I hope you like him - he's so adorable!

One in a chameleon

 Hello Crafters

Happy weekend!  I'm so glad that it is.  I have so many jobs to do, and yet I'm sure I will still find some time for craft, after all once the washing is in, it takes 1 hour 20 before i need to do anything with it!

Taking time to share this cute chameleon from Vera Lane on Etsy.

I coloured him in (it looks like a 'he I think!) with Copics and then fussy cut him out.

Using a 6x6 piece of white card, I scored down the middle making a small slimline card.  on a slightly smaller panel (2 3/4 inches by 6) I stamped the side with versafine black ink using a Tracey Hey stamp set called creativity.  To this, I added broken china distress ink through a bubble stencil.

The flowers are a Julie Hickey set called Fresh Florals.  They were stamped in Memento black ink and also coloured with Copics and fussy cut out.  I then layered the coloured images on the panel and stuck them down using a both glue and foam pads.
To make it stand out a bit more I inked black down the edges of the panel and added a few black dots in pen, and some clear gems.
The sentiment was one I printed on my computer and cut into strips.

I just love how this turned out!  He is just so quirky...

up, up and awayyyyy

 Hello crafting friends

Hope you are all OK.  I made a couple of cards this weekend, so I thought I'd share one of them...

I made this using MFT up and away stamp set, A Tracey Hey paper pad, distress oxides (scattered straw and abandoned coral).  Coloured with Copics and embellished with enamel dots.

After colouring the stamps, I fussy cut them out along with a patterned paper circle die cut, and white circle.  I coloured this by ink blending the scattered straw, at the same time as using a stencil for a bit of interest in the background.  The sentiment from the stamp set was heat embossed on a black strip of paper, and I added everything to the card

This teddy is so super cute!

Scrap O'clock album

 Hello crafting friends

I'm not sharing a card today, but an album I made using a template from i-craft called scrap o'clock.

This can be purchased here  I was lucky enough to be sent it by Oakwood direct to decorate up ready for showcasing on the Craft store on Sunday 23rd January.

It came as chip board covers and thick paper pages, and can be decorated in a variety of ways.

The clock face and backing card are separate when delivered, so I used a shabby black background paper to layer under the clock face itself.

To decorate the clock face I used some green texture paint from craft treat (its like moss and has a gritty texture)  I painted this all over before using some white gesso and a dried brush to knock back some of the green.  To add a further aged look I used craft treat grey cement texture paint through an i-craft crackle stencil to add more interest.

I then painted the inner ring and hands black, then used silver gilding wax all over.

I added a combination of natural fibres, cheesecloth and dried flowers as a base before adding paper flowers from my stash at the side.  I added glue and glass glitter onto the flowers, as well as some stickles for shine

The bees were cut out from the same pad the backing paper came from.

It was then put together and I used ribbon and lace to tie around the jump rings.

This is a very different project for me, but I hope you like it! - I got very inky and messy and my craft room looked like my paint had exploded!

Another Alice....

Hello everyone

Hope you are all feeling good after the new year celebrations, and looking forward to another year of crafting inspiration direct from the desk of the glittery pink craft room!

I'll start by thanking everyone who visits, follows and comments here.  I started my new blog in July last year, along with other SM platforms, now knowing what would happen, but since then I've gained loads of IG followers, as well as started new followers on this blog.  If you have landed her accidentally, please take a look around.  To follow me, please click on the main page on the right, all links are there!

So... the last few cards you may have noticed I have looked around on Etsy for some new designers and ideas to play with.  I came across Vera Lane studios (who you may recognise from some of the aall and create stamps.  I have always love Alice in wonderland, and when I saw there was a different type of Alice, she was added to basket and checked out quicker than I could say 'I'm late!'

I also wanted to try a bit of a new style.  Grungy but with pretty flowers and colour, so this was the combo I came up with.  I made several in this style and am loving it!

Hope you like it too!

All my polkadoodles love

Hello everyone

I'm trying to use some of what I have in my craft room, rather than buying new and decided to do a search through my computer to see what I had on there. I've been crafting for so long that I have folders that I haven't even been into since 2010!

While I was searching through my digi stash and found a whole kit I had totally forgotten about, and they're just super cute!

This is from a Winnie sugar sprinkles collection from Polkadoodles.

 Ingredients

  • Stencil - the range
  • Ink - distress ink Kitsch Flamingo
  • Scalloped circle die - lawn lawn
  • Sentiment - Mama elephant big sending hugs stamp set
  • Coloured with Spectrum noir triblend brush markers and
  • Polychromos pencils for detail

I printed her and coloured her, adding detail with my pencils to add depth after laying the alcohol pens down.  I then cut her out using my scan and cut (with a 1mm border)

I took a piece of plan card and using a stencil, added the tiny hearts to the background fading the colour out to the edges.  I die cut the circle from a grey card stock ad also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto the same card.  To make this pop, I also matted the main panel onto it too.

Everything was then layered with a combination of glue and foam pads for extra dimension.

I just love her - this is one of those cards you just don't want to give away!

Sip, Sip, Hooray!

Hello Crafting friends,

Welcome back to my blog for another card.  This time using Edna from Stamping Bella.

My friend asked me if I could make a card for a friend who liked gin (well who doesn't!) and I made a selection of cards for her to choose from.  After making the one below (but in a blue colour) I decided I would make it again in pink and keep one in my stash.

 Ingredients

  • Stamping bella - Edna needs a martini
  • Distress ink - Kitch flamingo
  • Stencil from the range
  • Sequins from my stash
  • Coloured with spectrum noir triblend brush markers

I used my craft artist software to draw and frame in black and add the sip, sip, hooray sentiment in various fonts onto the bottom of the card, and printed this out.

After cutting to size I used my stencil and a light hand to add pink bubbles in the background.

Edna was stamped and coloured, and stickles added to her wings for added sparkle.  I then fussy cut her out and added her with foam pads onto the background, finishing with a few pink sparkly sequins to complete the card.

Isn't she just adorable, a girl after my own heart!
