Love you a latte.

 Hi, Crafting friends.

I made this while tucked up in the warm, sheltering from Storm Goretti.  We have about 20cm of snow on the ground, and all I could think of was steaming hot coffee!

I used all Polkadoodles dies and stencils to make this.

I started off die-cutting all the bits.  I used a set called Sweet Moments die bundle available here and scalloped rectangles and tags die from here using a combination of plain, coloured, and patterned card stock.

I made up the coffee cups, then using picked raspberry distress ink, and heart wreath stencil I added detail onto the scalloped panel.

I used the sentiment from the coffee set, and stuck it to vellum, before fussing cutting around the whole thing.

I layered it all together using foam pads for dimension, and added stickles for sparkle.

Back to the coffee and keeping warm!

Birthday bunny

 Hi everyone

Once again it's time for a new Polkadoodles challenge.  This week I used a pre-coloured image.  These are absolutely amazing if you want a quick make, or if you are not confident in your colouring skills.

If you are new to colouring, these can help you determine where light and shade should be and help you plan your colours! This one is called 3 little bunny rabbits and you can buy it here

So versatile!!

I printed the image onto a piece of 6x6 smooth printing paper.  Then, using a die-cut sentiment (not a Polkadoodles one, it's from my stash) and layered the word underneath.  Finally finishing with a wishes word from the sentiment stamp set called special occasions

I just love a clean and simple card and this is one of my favourites this year

I used this little die set called beary cute to make a very Autumnal feeling card.

Surprise strawberries

 Hello everyone

I think in my head I'm in summer, as my favourite cards at the moment are all summer themed!  Here's another one I made using a combination of things. I wanted to make something other than a flat card, I wanted a fancy folded one. Here's the full thing:

Its a gatefold card - so the outside has a bellyband and looks like this

Then inside when you open it, there is this cute image from tiddlyinks (it's now retired but its from my old drive where I have loads of tiddlyinks images!)

Ingredients

  • Tiddlyinks digi stamp (retired) - Berrylicious
  • Elisabeth craft - strawberry die
  • Nitwit digi paper collections - Sweet preserves
  • Coloured with Spectrum noir triblend brush markers
  • Tattered lace stitched circle die

I firstly printed all of the papers I wanted to use so I could match the colours, before colouring in this super cute strawberry image from  Tiddlyinks.

I have some card blanks that are unscored, this one normally forms a 5x7 card, but instead I scored lines at 3.5 inches and again at 10.5 inches to create a gatefold card.

I cut out the panels to go both inside and outside the card, as well as cutting two matching die cut circles from the dotty paper in the collection.

I fussy cut the image out and stuck her inside the card onto one of these circles

To make the belly band I cut a strip of paper 2 inches wide and slightly longer than the card, glued them end to end and folded to form a snug (but not tight) band, gluing the circle at the join.  I stamped the happy birthday from a set that was in a bundle I brought from a craft show (I think they were rare earth or tattered lace from a long while ago??) around this I wanted my strawberries, so I die cut them from white card stock and coloured them in to match the image inside, using glue and foam pads for dimension.

I hope you like it and it makes you remember long summer nights in June with fresh strawberries and cream!

Love roo

Hello everyone

I made this card for my sons birthday last month, but just haven't got around to blogging it yet.

When my son was a toddler he couldn't say wallaby, so he called them "wobbalies" and the name has stuck ever since, so when I spotted this roo set from clearly besotted, it had to land in my basket!

Ingredients

  • Die -
    • Mama elephant slim line scene builder
    • tattered lace basic circle
  • Stamps –
    • clearly besotted – Love roo
    • MFT lets stick together
  • Coloured with spectrum noir tri blend brush markers
  • Ink blending distress oxide inks
    • Chipped sapphire
    • Prize ribbon
    • Antique paper
    • Vintage photo

I cut out of the panels for the shaped card and ink blended them all.  For texture I splatted each one with the same colours I had used to blend as well as black and white, with some shimmer pen in there too. For the circle back panel i used a large circle and chopped it in half in my trimmer to make a different backdrop.

I put these aside to dry while stamping and colouring all of my images, that I then put through my scan and cut and cut them all out.  I also cut out the word ‘Son’ in two sizes, one in black and the other in white

Now the background panels were dry, I glued them all together to form the card base, and placed my critters around the card to create a scene.  In the sky I adhered the ‘son’ word and stamped the happy birthday to room on the front panel.

He absolutely adored this – its still in his bedroom now.  His very own set of wobbalies!

All Dressed up - November challenge - Christmas and Sparkle

 Hi Everyone

We have another fantastic challenge over at All dressed up Facebook group, and one if you're making Christmas card will be easy to enter.  All you need is using an All dressed up image, share it with us and add some sparkle (well why wouldn't you on a Christmas card!)

You are in with a chance of winning three of Wendy's fabulous images

Don't have any? well you can browse the range here on Etsy.

Once you are ready to post - add it to our Facebook group here.

I used one of my all time favourite images from All dressed up called little skater

Ingredients

  • Tag die (from my Moms stash so I don't have a brand)
  • Tattered lace snowflake dies
  • Hobbyarts sentiment stamp
  • Coloured with spectrum noir triblend brush markers
  • Silver Mirri card
  • Stickles Glitter glue and Nuvo drops for added sparkle.

I printed her out and coloured her in, before fussy cutting the image out and adding the stickles glitter for sparkle.

I took a white card base and die cut from another sheet of card, the tag and several snowflakes in different sizes.  I also cut the snowflakes from silver Mirri for extra shine.

I added the die cuts to the page, and added some white twine to the top of the tag.  I then layered my skater in foam pads and added her to the card.

Flor the sentiment I used a scrap of pink gingham from my scraps folder, and stamped the winter wishes from Christmas stamp set, cut a fishtail and the end and added this on.

A few more blobs of stickles and some silver Nuvo drops completes the over all look.

I hope you come along and join us - if you aren't making Christmas cards, you can always join our anything goes challenge on our blog  Or why not enter both and double your chances of winning!

Hello Sunshine

 Hello everyone

I made a card today reminding me of beaches, and sunshine and holidays!  Here in the UK we had a couple of weeks of sunshine, but now it is rainy and miserable again so I made a sweet card to cheer me up!

I used a cute MFT stamp set that is probably one of my all time favourites.  Its an old one, but I think you can still buy it.  I've had it for ages in my stash but I adore those tropical critters!

Ingredients list
My Favorite things stamps - Polynesian Paradise
Scan and cut for the scalloped shaped behind
Paper pad and leaf dies are from 'the works'
Coloured with Zig clean colour markers on multimedia paper from Daler Rowney

I stamped and coloured the images and cut them out on my scan and cut.  At the same time I cut a scalloped circle from the library of shapes for the scene to be attached to.
I went into my green scraps folder and pulled out a few different plain green colours and used these to die cut out the tropical leaves.  using the scallop I layered everything together using glue and foam pads for a dimensional display.  The card is a 6x6 square card, so I trimmed the patterned paper to fit leaving a white border.  For finishing touches I added a tonic shimmer pen but being extra careful not to reactivate the zig ink and smudge the colouring... (my parrot only has highlights bless him!), as well as stamping the sentiment and white heat embossing on scrap of black card.
