Autumn vibe

 Hey everyone

So in case you hadn't noticed the Autumn releases are all on their way!  loads of new stamps from all companies for Autumn and Halloween.

I have a couple of cards in the next few days to share starting with this one I made for a create and craft show on behalf of Oakwood direct.

They have shows with Stampendous stamps, and I was sent this one to complete samples for.  Its a large slimline stamp called Harvest ride, but I liked the bicycle so didn't use the whole thing for this card.

I also though it would look great layered up, so I stamped it three times and coloured up sections before fussy cutting them so I could decoupage it.

It was coloured with a combo of copic markers and polychromos pencils, before I layered it, and added it to a card base with a beautiful yellow mat and layer.

The sentiment is from a Hunkydory pad with little strips you cut up.  i thought this one was perfect for the card.

I'd like to enter this into:

Krafty Chicks - all occasions

Double D - wheels/Mood board

Crafty Calender - anything goes

Taylor made cards 4 U - transport

I hope you like my card - if so please leave a bit of love either below or on on my other social media sites - to access these click on the link top right!

Sherlock says Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone

I made this using a Vera lane digi image (from etsy), printed him and the dog out and coloured them using Copics.

I used an crafttreat stencil in the background in various muted colours to create a camouflage feel and a script stamp to add a bit of interest.  The sentiment is die cuts from Julie Hickey sweet pea alphabet set and a Lisa Horton stamp set.  I mounted it together and to add a bit of contrast  i white heat embossed a hexagon from an Oakwood direct set and cut it out.  I also used this in the background for a bit of interest.  The brown shape really makes Sherlock pop off the page.

Male cards are just so tough to make aren’t they!

Geranium pitcher

 Hi friends

Hope you are all having a great week! I'm stopping by today to share a beautiful stamped image from Stampendous called geranium pitcher, as well as some useful background stamps also from Stampendous called postage creations,

This is a 7x7 card I made using Anna Marie Paper pad called Garden Blooms.  I stamped my image in memento tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics.  I layered up the card, and decided to add the postage style stamps to the background.  I also have a stamp shaped die that I stamped onto making them look like postage stamps.  the butterfly is also from this postage set.

I really love the blue tones and grey tones in this, this is one of my favourite blue colour combos!  (B60, B63 and B66 in copic colours).

This stamp will be featured on Create and craft on Saturday if you want to check it out.  On the Oakwood shows!

Scrap O'clock album

 Hello crafting friends

I'm not sharing a card today, but an album I made using a template from i-craft called scrap o'clock.

This can be purchased here  I was lucky enough to be sent it by Oakwood direct to decorate up ready for showcasing on the Craft store on Sunday 23rd January.

It came as chip board covers and thick paper pages, and can be decorated in a variety of ways.

The clock face and backing card are separate when delivered, so I used a shabby black background paper to layer under the clock face itself.

To decorate the clock face I used some green texture paint from craft treat (its like moss and has a gritty texture)  I painted this all over before using some white gesso and a dried brush to knock back some of the green.  To add a further aged look I used craft treat grey cement texture paint through an i-craft crackle stencil to add more interest.

I then painted the inner ring and hands black, then used silver gilding wax all over.

I added a combination of natural fibres, cheesecloth and dried flowers as a base before adding paper flowers from my stash at the side.  I added glue and glass glitter onto the flowers, as well as some stickles for shine

The bees were cut out from the same pad the backing paper came from.

It was then put together and I used ribbon and lace to tie around the jump rings.

This is a very different project for me, but I hope you like it! - I got very inky and messy and my craft room looked like my paint had exploded!

Oakwood - thanks a bunch

 Hi everyone

We have another fab show coming up at 'The Craft Store' with our very own Tina Barnett.

One of the stamp sets this time is called 'thanks a bunch' and I had so much fun playing with it.  When the ideas started flowing it turned out to be so versatile.

This is a stamp from @PaperRoses and will be featured on the show which is on the 8th at 3pm.

This sample I just stamped in black then masked the edge and stamped again.  I added a sentiment too, and then some splashes of gold to give more interest

This sample I stamped onto dark purple card, and embossed the detail in Stampendous gold embossing powder. Using prismacolour pencils I coloured the detail to bring it to life.  Finished with the sentiment from the stamp set, which i stamped and embossed in gold onto a torn vellum strip

My final sample, I stamped onto watercolour card and embossed with White powder.  This time I wet the paper and used a wet on wet watercolour technique to build up the blue colour.  I found a matching card stock from my stash to mat it onto, and stamped a sentiment on a scrap of this too.

I love them all, but I think the black and white one just edges in front as I think its so striking in the monochrome.

There are other samples on the show with other stamps and dies, and I'd love for you to check them out and at the same time stock up your crafty baskets with some great bargains!

See you soon

Birthday girl in Blue

 Hi Everyone

Happy new year!

Hope you all had a great festive break and enjoyed the celebrations.  Here's hoping 2022 see's the end of the COVID restrictions and outbreaks!

Today I thought I'd share another card I made using a new designer I stumbled across while browsing Etsy.  I had a whole bunch of these cute girls in a bundle and they are so super sweet.

Ingredients

  • Digi stamp - NataliaSzGraphics (Etsy)
  • Coloured with Copics and polychromos
  • Polkadoodles stamp set (from Oakwood Archer)
  • Die - Elizabeth craft designs
I coloured in the usual way using alcohol makers with pencil to add in the finer shading and detail and fussy cut her out.  The sentiment was stamped and embossed and assembled on top of a die cut oval.

I hope you like her - I have a couple more girlies on my desk to colour so she won't be the last.

Clean and simple floral design

 Hi everyone

I thought I would today share a clean and simple floral card, that I absolutely love.  Happy yellows and blues, with lots of white space, it makes my heart very happy!

Ingredients

  • Stamps
    • Oakwood archer - distress texture back ground stamp
    • Oakwood archer - distress type stamp
    • Oakwood archer - distress circle background
  • Dies
    • Oakwood archer rose die set
    • Oakwood archer ladybird die set
  • Yellow Nuvo drops
I stamped the yellow distress background onto a piece of card slightly smaller than DL and then stamped the circle/dots in blue over it.  I then stamped the bigger circle and left he panel to dry.

I die cut the leaf from the rose set in green card stock and the flowers from the ladybird set in white, and added a bit of colour.  To add dimension I used my embossing tool to shape them.

Finally I matted the DL card onto some pearlescent yellow card, and used the off cut strips to stamp my sentiment.  I then glued the whole thing together.

I hope you like it

Oakwood archer shows Friday 10th December 2pm

Hello crafting friends

As promised here is part two - and it was these samples that really pushed my creativity.

I haven't done alcohol inks or scrapbooking for a very long time!  It was nice to play though and really stretch my boundaries.

Hope you'll tune in and see the show, and check out the other samples the DT have made - they are stunning!

Oakwood archers shows Friday 10th Dec 10am

Hello crafting friends

The glittery pink craft room has been rather a mess for the last week or so while I've been busy making samples for the next Oakwood archer show on The craft channel.

How do I always end up with a space the size of my glass mat to work??

On Friday 10th December we have wo shows at 10am and 2pm showing some of the products available to purchase from the Oakwood direct website, or from the craft channel itself.

I have made some very different types and themes for this set - I haven't done some of these techniques for a very long time!

These are for the 10am show

I'll be back tomorrow with the 2pm samples

Sending Christmassy crafting hugs!

More exciting news

 Hi everyone

So I was recently over the moon to have been selected to become part of the Oakwood Archer DT family.  They are a craft company who sell so many products and use the craft store as a way of promoting and selling. The amazing Tina Barnett was on the show and my samples got promoted throughout.

They sent me two sets to use for my first show, and they featured on last Saturday.

The peacock collection

....and the signs of the season

All using the products that can be found here

Here's an excerpt of the show where Yanis picked up my sample - I was like a kid at Christmas!!

The next shows are on 10th December, I'm busy making them at the moment so keep your eyes peeled for that show.

Crafty hugs
