up, up and awayyyyy

 Hello crafting friends

Hope you are all OK.  I made a couple of cards this weekend, so I thought I'd share one of them...

I made this using MFT up and away stamp set, A Tracey Hey paper pad, distress oxides (scattered straw and abandoned coral).  Coloured with Copics and embellished with enamel dots.

After colouring the stamps, I fussy cut them out along with a patterned paper circle die cut, and white circle.  I coloured this by ink blending the scattered straw, at the same time as using a stencil for a bit of interest in the background.  The sentiment from the stamp set was heat embossed on a black strip of paper, and I added everything to the card

This teddy is so super cute!

I wish you a merry Merry Christmoose

Hello Crafting friends

Welcome back for more inspiration.  This time its another Christmas card but made in muted greys and blues using a MFT stamp set.

Ingredients

  • My favourite things Merry Christmoose
  • Coloured with spectrum noir tri blend brush markers
  • Scraps from my blue paper stash
  • Tattered lace basic stitched circle die
  • Clear embossing ink and white wow embossing powder

I was lacking a bit of inspiration so did some searches on Pinterest for sketches.  I found this sketch originally for a square card, so I modified it and came up this idea.

I stamped the images, coloured with alcohol markers, and cut out with the matching dies.

I had some scraps of grey left from a previous project and wanted to team them with blue, so on digging through my scraps found some perfect paper to match.

I trimmed the banners by hand and cut them to size, and using a stitched die I cut out a circle, a scrap of grey to emboss my greeting on

I then layered everything together using foam pads, glue, and tape runner.

I love the CAS feel to this, it’s a great masculine Christmas card.

I'd like to enter into the following challenges:

Love roo

Hello everyone

I made this card for my sons birthday last month, but just haven't got around to blogging it yet.

When my son was a toddler he couldn't say wallaby, so he called them "wobbalies" and the name has stuck ever since, so when I spotted this roo set from clearly besotted, it had to land in my basket!

Ingredients

  • Die -
    • Mama elephant slim line scene builder
    • tattered lace basic circle
  • Stamps –
    • clearly besotted – Love roo
    • MFT lets stick together
  • Coloured with spectrum noir tri blend brush markers
  • Ink blending distress oxide inks
    • Chipped sapphire
    • Prize ribbon
    • Antique paper
    • Vintage photo

I cut out of the panels for the shaped card and ink blended them all.  For texture I splatted each one with the same colours I had used to blend as well as black and white, with some shimmer pen in there too. For the circle back panel i used a large circle and chopped it in half in my trimmer to make a different backdrop.

I put these aside to dry while stamping and colouring all of my images, that I then put through my scan and cut and cut them all out.  I also cut out the word ‘Son’ in two sizes, one in black and the other in white

Now the background panels were dry, I glued them all together to form the card base, and placed my critters around the card to create a scene.  In the sky I adhered the ‘son’ word and stamped the happy birthday to room on the front panel.

He absolutely adored this – its still in his bedroom now.  His very own set of wobbalies!

I'd like to enter this into

Frightfully sweet

 Hello friends

A few posts back I said I do not do Halloween as a rule, I do not celebrate it and my son doesn’t go trick or treating.  Not due to religious reasons just because it doesn’t sit comfortably with me.  Having said that, I have had several posts recently about Halloween because the images are just tooooo cute! I saw this MFT one and had to have it.  There is something super sweet about animals dressed up to make a cute scene!

Ingredients

  • Stamps
    • MFT - frightfully sweet
    • Clearly besotted  - Alien attack
  • Inks
    • Distress oxides
      • Mustard seed
      • Chipped sapphire
      • Wilted violet
      • Twisted citron
      • Black soot
    • Versa mark
    • Memento tuxedo black
    • Hero arts unicorn pigment ink
  • Scan and cut
  • Gold metallic paint
  • White and black acrylic paint
  • Shimmer pen
  • Glossy accents

I made this card into a z fold, but with a bottom bar to add the critters too.

I did this by taking a 6x6 card blank.  I folded the front page back on itself (so its like a z shape) and then opened it flat again. I then trimmed 1.5 inches off the bottom to make the bar.

Before layering I inked the background. I knew I wanted a spooky house in the background so started with mustard seed in this location and added twisted citron across the bottom to add a spooky glow. I then continued blending using wilted violet, chipped sapphire and a bit of black soot along the top. Once I was happy with the blending, I added gold metallic, white, and black paints to splatter across the night sky

For the ground, my critters stand on, this was black card stock I cut into wavy lines added white pigment ink to the top and then layered them together. I used a white gel pen to add dots (I forgot t platter before I had assembled so had to improvise!)

I then stamped and coloured the cute critters from the MFT stamps set and the spooky castle/house from clearly besotted. And cut them all out using my scan and cut.

The bottom bar was added the opposite way around to the main card folds, and everything was then placed and either glues or foam pads used to adhere it together. The sentiment was from the MFT set and was embossed using white powder and a Versamark in pad. Finishing touches were a bit of glitter and some glossy accents.

Phew that was a lot of explaining!

No buddies like snow buddies

Hi crafting friends.

Today I'm sharing a make using my favourite MFT Christmas set called snow buddies.  This will be my first Christmas make, so I guess I had better get cracking to make the rest!  Look out for many more Christmas makes coming your way!

Ingredients

  • Stamps
    • MFT snow buddies stamps
    • ink blot shop cable knit background
    • MFT - general BB sentiments
  • spectrum noir triblend brush markers
  • tattered lace dotted simple circle die
  • distress oxide inks
    • broken china
    • Victorian velvet
A simple card today - I stamped the background panel using broken china ink and left is aside to dry, while I coloured my stamped images. I cut out the circle from white cardstock and trimmed one side down so it would look like it was popping off the side of the card.
I cut them out using my scan and cut and positioned them onto the circle background to make a topped.  Some of the images are flat and some are popped up on foam pads.
I then cut a strip of blue glitter card and trimmed my back ground panel to me slightly smaller than the 5x7 card.

I decided to balance the colour, I should do the sentiment in pink, so I stamped in Victorian velvet, but found it wasn't bold enough, so I coloured a scrap of white card with the distress oxide and then let it dry, before white heat embossing.  I stamped a snow flake too in the same colour ink for a tone on tone look.

I hope you like it as much as I do - I really love the muted non traditional colours!

Lets stick together

 Hi crafty friends

Just a quick post today - I'm dropping in to share this anniversary card I made using MFT Stamps.

I really loved the frames I did on the card a few weeks ago, but wanted something thinner, so I used nesting dies together to create these frames.  I wanted it to be quite bold and geometric, and this is what I came up with

Ingredients

  • MFT stamps - lets stick together
  • Coloured papers from my stash
  • Nesting basic rectangle dies from tattered lace
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Stamped with lawn fawn alcohol friendly ink
  • Wow fine white embossing powder.
  • Dotty stencil (brought from The Range)
  • squeezed lemonade distress oxide
  • Black nuvo drops
I firstly stamped and coloured the images from the set, and stamped one of the sentiments on a strip of black card stock, embossing it with fine white wow powder.

I then set the images to cut out on my scan and cut while I started the background.  On the card blank I used a dotty stencil and lightly added squeezed lemonade for some interest in the background.  I then used two nesting dies that were one size apart, taped them so it would be even around the edge, and die cut these from black, orange and yellow card stock to create three frames.

I layered these up at jaunty angles, before adding the cactus in with a combination of glue and foam dots adding the sentiment across the middle.  I felt it was missing a little detail to balance the card out, so added one black nuvo drop to the bottom right corner.  Sometimes its the smallest thing that makes the difference.

I hope you like this design, there are many more on my blog or social media pages to scroll through (the link is on my home page in the top right corner)

Cute critter birthday

 Hello everyone

It's me again,  sharing more inspiration from "The Glittery pink craft room" (although I have had a good tidy and vacuumed so there is a little less glitter than usual!)

I wanted to make something super bright and cheerful today, something that will make whoever receives it smile!  Its being added to the back up stash of emergency cards as I need to continue to rebuild my stash after donating everything I had.

Back to MFT stamps today to make this eye catching card.

Ingredients
  • MFT stamps - Birthday buds
  • Coloured with Copics and Spectrum Noir triblend brush markers
  • dies - Stamps by me frame dies
  • white gel pen and tonic shimmer pen for embellishment
  • ink - Lawn fawn alcohol friendly jet black ink
I stamped the  images and coloured them using a variety of alcohol markers.  I then put them through my scan and cut with a 1mm border to cut them out.

I rummaged through my stash of pattered card and found this super bright pink spotty paper to match my colouring, but I couldn't find yellow or aqua paper that matched so when I cut out my frames I used white card and coloured it with my alcohol pens to match
I also added a white card mat layer with some black fine liner faux stitching.

The sentiment is also in the stamp set, and I white heat embossed it onto black card.

I finally layered the whole thing together, sticking it with glue and foam tape, added shimmer and white gel pen for effect, making a super cute, fun birthday card.

Cool birthday

 Hello crafty friends

I'm back with some more card making inspiration - penguins having fun in the sun....

I wanted to make a more masculine card and thought this as a fun idea using these super cute penguins

Ingredients

  • Stamps
    • MFT - penguins in paradise
    • Anne-Marie - birthday stamp (background)
    • Lisa Horton - Everyday tickertape sentiments
  • Coloured with Copics and Spectrum noir triblend brush marker
  • Inks
    • peacock feathers and squeezed lemonade distress inks
    • Lawn fawn black alcohol friendly ink
  • Die - tattered lace stitched basic circle
I started by stamping the penguins in the jet black ink and colouring them with my alcohol markers.  I then cut them out using my scan and cut.  I've had this stamp set for probably 3 or 4 years and I still love it!

While that was cutting, I started on my background.  I used the happy birthday background stamp on my fingers, lightly inking and tapping down mainly across the middle section of the card, from top to bottom to add interest.
I then used my distress inks and blending brushes to create coloured patches in the background  and then added to the texture by smooshing the ink pads on my desk, adding water and lightly tapping my paintbrush across the panel.  I also did the same with a bit of lawn fawn sparkle liquid.

I dried this with my heat tool, and die cut a circle, layering everything together using glue and foam pads.  Matted onto a piece of black card stock, the finished card was a top fold 5x7.  Finishing touches with a white gel pen and three sentiments from the Lisa Horton set, and there we have a super male card.

How I wish I was with those penguins!

So Sweet

Hello crafting friends, welcome back to my blog.

Todays card is another 3d pop up style, made with my MFT outside the box die-namics and mama elephant stamp set.

I just think these critters are so sweet and added to the sugary goodness cake and milkshakes its just too stinkin' cute! !  I could just devour one of these milkshakes right now calories don't count on a Monday - do they?

Ingredient list

  • Mama Elephant - Milkshake stamps
  • MFT - outside the box level up die-namics
  • Coloured with copics and Spectrum noir brush triblend markers
  • Lawn fawn gingham paper pad and alcohol friendly ink pads
  • stickles and glossy accents to finish

I cut out the card using white card and then used the accompanying dies to cut out of a lawn fawn gingham paper pad.

I stamped the images  and coloured with my pens, before cutting them out on my scan and cut.

I then assembled the card, before adding sparkle and some glaze on the sweet treats to finish the look.

Unicorns and Sparkle

 Hello everyone

It's me again, back with another post about making pretty things... Speaking of pretty there is nothing more girly than a card with rainbows, unicorns, dressed up cats and sparkle...

Here's my make for today showing all of the above in the cutest way possible.

Ingredient list

  • MFT stamps -  Unicorns and glitter
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Stamped with Lawn Fawn alcohol friendly ink
  • Ink bending - Kitsch flamingo distress oxide
  • heart stencil and stripy paper from my stash

I stamped and coloured the cute unicorn girl and her sweet cat, and fussy cut them out.  I cut close to the shape so edged around it with a black marker to tidy up the edges

I die cut a heart from some scrap paper to make a stencil, then laid the heart stencil over the top.  I blended through both masks, then removed the top stencil leaving the large heart shape and with a light hand used more ink around the edge.  I stamped the sentiment and placed the stamped images on foam pads for a bit of dimension.  It was missing something at the side, so I added a strip of scrap paper down the left.  I finished it by covering the images with tonic shimmer pen, then adding glossy accent glaze to the bow, hats, flowers, shoes and rainbow (although the shimmer and glossy accents are hard to see in the photo but they are so vibrant in real life!)

Hello Sunshine

 Hello everyone

I made a card today reminding me of beaches, and sunshine and holidays!  Here in the UK we had a couple of weeks of sunshine, but now it is rainy and miserable again so I made a sweet card to cheer me up!

I used a cute MFT stamp set that is probably one of my all time favourites.  Its an old one, but I think you can still buy it.  I've had it for ages in my stash but I adore those tropical critters!

Ingredients list
My Favorite things stamps - Polynesian Paradise
Scan and cut for the scalloped shaped behind
Paper pad and leaf dies are from 'the works'
Coloured with Zig clean colour markers on multimedia paper from Daler Rowney

I stamped and coloured the images and cut them out on my scan and cut.  At the same time I cut a scalloped circle from the library of shapes for the scene to be attached to.
I went into my green scraps folder and pulled out a few different plain green colours and used these to die cut out the tropical leaves.  using the scallop I layered everything together using glue and foam pads for a dimensional display.  The card is a 6x6 square card, so I trimmed the patterned paper to fit leaving a white border.  For finishing touches I added a tonic shimmer pen but being extra careful not to reactivate the zig ink and smudge the colouring... (my parrot only has highlights bless him!), as well as stamping the sentiment and white heat embossing on scrap of black card.
