Happy Christmas stamp set - those extra stamps

 Hi everyone

When we have new stamp sets we always head for the main stamps, the characters usually for me.

On this stamp set, I wanted to use some of the extra stamps as the main feature, perhaps for a male card or someone who isn't into cute creatures (I don't know of many who wouldn't, but there are a few!).

I made this card using the brand new Lili of the Valley release called Happy Christmas.

I was recently added to their DT and I am so super excited about it.  I have made a selection of cards which I'll feed into my Instagram over the next few weeks.  This is where I share most of my makes, so please hop over and follow me.

I stamped and coloured the images so I could pick my colour theme.  I had a pile of scraps on my tables from other projects, so used a scrap or tartan and a dotty red scrap to layer behind my image.  I die-cut an oval out of another scrap of red card. The corrugated card was yet another scrap.

The sentiment is from a digital set available from the Etsy website too.

I added my images using foam squares, added some stickers and some Nuvo drops and the card was complete.

All images and sentiments are available from Etsy here

Elvis Wesley Mouse, slips and slide into Christmas

 Hello Crafting friends

Whether you love it or hate it, the big 'C' word is on the way in only a few weeks!  I'm finishing the last of my cards to send, and this is a great opportunity to share this card with you to celebrate the start of a brand new challenge at Polkadoodles!

Today I am sharing a card made using Elvis Wesley moose.  He is a snake peek of a USB that's currently on sale on Polkadoodles website, and will be on the next TV show with Nikky.

The backing paper is also from the same USB.  I just love the bright bold background it makes.

So I printed him out on super smooth card and coloured him with my latest craft room addition a full set of Ohuhu Markers.  I have got copics, spectrum noir, and promarkers, but these might become my new favourite....

When I printed Elvis, I did so in a lighter grey, so it's closer to a no-line drawing in places.

Paired with a tag die cut and a tree from my stash, and of course some sparkle!

If you want more info on the Polkadoodles challenge - all of the info is here, but it's a weekly challenge, with prizes for top designs and a lucky randomly drawn winner.

I'd like to enter this into:

CRAFT challenge - Christmas for children

Craft rocket - Christmas

Crafty chicks - Christmas

The Holly and the Ivy - Christmas

For more of my designs, please follow me on my other SM channels the link is top right of this post.

Thanks for dropping by, I love that you found me!  Hope to see you again very soon.

Winter pastels colours

 Hello crafting friends

Today is once again a new challenge, the last for 2024, before we take a short Christmas break! What a year it's been for me, lots of life-changing moments and an awful lot of reflection!

I find crafting helps with my mental health and certainly when I need to reflect or back away from a situation for some distance and just stop thinking for an hour or two.

Anyway - back to the challenge.  I made this for the challenge using Winnie and Penguin from the white Christmas collection. Our theme was a pastel rainbow, but I chose to just use a few of the colours.

The papers are offcuts from my scraps drawer, and the colours match perfectly with my image.  Do you colour to match your paper, or colour an image and then find matching paper?  I do both, but this time around I coloured first.

I used a Kraft card square blank and rounded the edges on two sides as a point of difference from a usual square card.

The image was coloured using Copic markers in pinks, blues and violets, and I used a white gel pen to add detail to her cheeks, and stickles for the snow and her wings.

I then fussy cut the image out and mounted it on top of the car using foam pads.

I'd like to enter this into:

Thanks so much for stopping by - there is more inspiration on my Instagram pages if you prefer this way. If you are here - I would you to leave me a comment.

Jingle all the way

Hello crafters!

Another two weeks has flown by and we are now into to December on the countdown to the big day!

I am dropping in to share this super cute card in nontraditional Christmas colours - after all, why can't Santa be pink, just because a large drinks manufacturer said he was red, he can be whatever colour you like!

I made the backgournd using the smaller star stmaps in the set along with two different blue shades of copic for the spots..  Its called Jingle all the way.  I then stamped the main images and coloured them in before fussy cutting and adding on foam pads to my card.

I stamped the setmeiment int he top corner, but the card needed something else... so i doodled a border around the whole thing and around the sentiment.  When mounted on black it really pops off the page.  A really modern take on a traditional classic!

Blue Christmas

 Hello Crafting friends.

It's time again for more Polkadoodles inspiration, and this week I'm using one of the latest releases.

This gorgeous poinsettia wreath comes coloured and in plain digis, which I adapted in my own colour scheme.  who said they have to be red or white! They are a bargain, you get loads for only £3.99

I printed the images onto smooth card and coloured using copic markers, then fussy cut them out.  The sentiment which is also in the bundle printed and die-cut using an oval die.  The background I decided to emboss for extra interest and I then mounted it onto silver mirri card.  I then layered the card up onto a 6x6 square card finished with silver glitter and Nuvo drops.

I think this is so elegant, I think I might send it to my Nan.

I'd like to enter this into:

Pop up Bella bear

 Hello everyone.

Time again for another challenge over at PD blog, and you can win some of the amazing images NIkky has.  There are loads of new ones, and a ton of oldies but goodies to choose from!

I used an image from the Bella Christmas bear release called 'Santa stop here'. Once I had coloured and fussy cutout, I used a pop-up die to add it to the inside of the card making it feel really special for the recipient. . The outside is decorated using the papers from the same release. The Christmas trees I took from the paper and enlarged them. Backing papers are more than just an accent behind the main image, have a close look and see what you can use in different ways!

Joy!

 Hello crafting friends

This week at polkadoodles, the DT were challenged with a colour themed Christmas card. pinks, greens and teals!

I used the clear stamp called 'winter noel'   I ink blended distress oxides (kitsch flamingo into Salvaged Patina) onto a sheet of textured card stock.  I masked the edges before so i could create a rectangle in the top third of my blank card..

I then used my stamping tool to give a good clear impression with versafine onyx black ink., using too of the stamps from the set along with the word joy.  I dug through my stash for the words at Christmas time.   I trimmed the panel and added a black mat behind, before mounting onto a 5x7 card.

I just love the CAS feel of this.

Its so cute.  I'm adding photos but you could put recipes, memorabilia, or just journal your festive period.

Penguin wreath

 Hello crafting friend

Posting today, just because!  I went to the stamp magic show in Doncaster and picked up some Lili of the valley polymer stamps, and had great fun making a set of Christmas cards with them.

I actually brought 4 sets (hubby if you are reading this they were on offer!) this card uses two called Animal Christmas wreaths and a fabulous sentiment set called Christmas greetings.

I love that these stamps come in a Kraft envelope with no single use plastic... well done LOTV!

I stamped the wreath to the side and then stamped and coloured the penguin with my copics.  I wanted him to have dimension so I fussy cut him out and popped him on some foam pads.

I stamped the sentiment at the top and trimmed the side adding coloured/stripy paper for added interest.  Finished with some stickles.

He is soooo adorable!

Snowy wonderland

Hi everyone

Over at Polkadoodles blog we have a new challenge for you to enter, with a chance of winning digi images of your choice.  Its almost Christmas (only 64 days to go) so you could use your win to stock up on Gnomes, Winnie, Elvis or Bella to name but a few.  My inspiration is actually from the new release Christmas stamp sets called winter kingdom.

I just love these snowmen, they are not cutesy, but they are super fun!

this back ground is a spare piece from my scraps stash, but you could have an inky background, use a stencil just get creative.  As he's a snowman, the colouring is really simple, just use some pale blues to add a bit of contrast, colour his scarf and crown and he's done.  really good for quick card makes!   I also added some stickles for added icy sparkle.

The snowflake is an old todo die I cut in half tucking in either side.

the sentiment is from the stamp set, and I just doodled around the edge for a full border.

Hope you like it

Let it snow....

 Hi crafty friends!

I cannot believe it is almost October - this year has flown by.  The new releases have all turned towards Christmas and winter and even the shops have the odd Christmas gifts appearing!

Over at All dressed up, it is again new release time. This time my card is made using this darling image called sledging time, available from etsy

I printed him out and coloured using copics, then fussy cut him out.  I had some backgrounds I made a while ago using stencils, so I tore one up and added some blue mirri card behind and layered for effect.  I finished it with some stickles to look like sparkling snow! The sentiment is a Lili of the valley set - an oldie but goodie!

The other images in this release are:

Crown of hearts
Deer hug
Sledging time

Put your boots on!

 Hello crafting friends

I find no shame in continuing to showcase Christmas cards during the driest July in UK history, especially as my craft room doubles as the present room when it comes around to the big day.  When this happens I end up using only what I can get to from my desk and I'm usually so busy my cards end up a bit pants as I don't spend enough time on them!

I made this using the Christmas festive fun gnomes from Polkadoodles for our latest blog challenge.  You can make anything and use any image all for a chance to win some freebies (our choice) from the massive Polkadoodles range.

This cutie is called 'put your boots on'

I coloured him using Copics in teals and greens then fussy cut him out - edging him with a black pen.

The background is a combination of glitter paste through a star stencil and black nuvo drops.  I then used a Polkadoodles tag die and layered him on top with foam pads.  It was missing an edge, so I doodled all the way around with a black fine liner to add detail.

I can't wait to see your entries in the blog challenge!

Exciting news - GDT at colour crazy

 Hello everyone

So.... I have some super exciting news.... I have been invited to take part in a three month Guest Designer Team spot with the colour crazy challenge.

These ladies have made me feel so welcome already and have some amazing sponsors lined up. The challenge is Anything goes, you just need to colour something!  so simple and easy!

My first post is using this adorable image from Ching-Chou Kuik and it is called Snowflake Dollie

Ingredients

  • Digi image Ching-Chou-Kuik
  • Coloured with copics and Polychromos pencils
  • Digi printed sentiment
  • Background splatters with a Sheena Douglas shimmer pen (summer sky)

This image was so detailed and intricate I didn’t want to distract from her with loads of embellishments and patterns, but I did know she needed to sparkle, and then sparkle some more!

I printed the background panel after designing it on Craft artist, and then printed two further images so I could colour and decoupage them for dimension.

Each was coloured firstly with copics then details added with my pencils to add depth, especially on her folds of her dress.

I then added splatters to the background panel and layered the princess together using foam pads.

The while thing was matted onto some silver glitter card, and extra sparkle added with simmer pens, and stickles in a variety of colours.  The photos don’t do the sparkle justice on this.  It shines!

I'd like to enter this into

If you want more information on the sponsors than please visit their Etsy page, otherwise, I'd love to see what you create and enter into our challenge.

Leave me some love, either here on on my other Social media pages, otherwise I'll see you back here for more makes from the desk of the glittery pink craft room!

All dressed up latest release November 2021

 Hello crafting friends

I hope your Christmas card makes are coming along nicely, if you need some inspiration or even some new images, then Wendy has released some gorgeous ones this month.

Our fabulous DT launched them at the beginning of the month, and here is my inspiration for you using a super cute image called Fairy star

Ingredients

  • Digi image - Fairy start available from here on Etsy
  • Coloured with spectrum noir triblend brush markers and Polychromos pencils
  • The circles were cut on my scan and cut
  • Backing paper from simply creative paper pad called festive chic
  • Sentiment - Lili of the valley scripty Christmas sentiments
  • Embellishments Creative expressions dies stitched collection - wreath

This card was supposed to be a shaker card.  I coloured her and cut out the circles, the frame and the acetate and filled it with sparkles, but then I realised you just couldn't see her in all her splendid glory, so I pulled the whole things apart and started again!

To cover up the glue mess around the edge I cut another frame on my scan and cut, and using the same purple card stock, matted and layered and added the detail across the middle.

This super cute image is one of three, here are the others.

Aren't they just adorable.

You can enter our challenge here.  The only rules are it must follow the theme and use an all dressed up image.

Our blog challenge runs until the 15th and they have an anything goes challenge, so you can enter both to double your chances of winning some images.

There is loads of inspiration on these channels but also on our Pinterest page. Please hop over and check out the DTs other fabulous creations.

I'd like to enter this into.

I wish you a merry Merry Christmoose

Hello Crafting friends

Welcome back for more inspiration.  This time its another Christmas card but made in muted greys and blues using a MFT stamp set.

Ingredients

  • My favourite things Merry Christmoose
  • Coloured with spectrum noir tri blend brush markers
  • Scraps from my blue paper stash
  • Tattered lace basic stitched circle die
  • Clear embossing ink and white wow embossing powder

I was lacking a bit of inspiration so did some searches on Pinterest for sketches.  I found this sketch originally for a square card, so I modified it and came up this idea.

I stamped the images, coloured with alcohol markers, and cut out with the matching dies.

I had some scraps of grey left from a previous project and wanted to team them with blue, so on digging through my scraps found some perfect paper to match.

I trimmed the banners by hand and cut them to size, and using a stitched die I cut out a circle, a scrap of grey to emboss my greeting on

I then layered everything together using foam pads, glue, and tape runner.

I love the CAS feel to this, it’s a great masculine Christmas card.

I'd like to enter into the following challenges:

If you have found your way here, you might as well let me know and leave me a comment in the box below.  If you want more without all the blah, then maybe Instagram or Facebook is better.  All my links are on the page before.  I’d love to see you there!
