Polkadoodles Darling buds Tulip girl

 Hello crafting friends

Just dropping in to share a card I made just in time for Spring.

This little beauty is called Darling buds tulip, but there are a whole bunch (see what I did there!) of gorgeous flower girls in spring themes ready to be coloured and shared on cards, scrapbook pages and journals.

Check out the polkadoodles website for the full range.

I made the background by ink-splattering and smooshing twisted citron and villainous potion distress oxides, and then added black detail using a stamp set called 'Flower Fun Borders', also from Polkadoodles.

I then printed my image, coloured her with a combination of ohuhu markers and added a bit of depth and detail in some areas using polychromos pencils, and fussy-cut her out, adding her to the card using foam pads for dimension. The sentiment is from a sentiment pack called Wordies Sentiment Sheets' from Creative Expressions (this is an older one, so I'm not sure if it's still available)

Because she is a digi image, I was able to enlarge her to fill the card - that's one of the things I love about digi images, you can size them to fit your project!

I'd like to enter her into:

Creative knockouts - Spring is in the air

I love markers  - For the girls

I spy with my little eye - spring flowers

Little red wagon - signs of Spring

Passion for markers - make it bloom

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my makes. There is more on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest available in links in the top right corner. But if you have made it here, please do leave a quick comment as I do really love to read them all!

See you all again very soon.

 Hi everyone.

I'm back again sharing some inspiration from the bright and beautiful collection from @polkadoodles.

I love a CAS card, and this collection was made for this!

Using the circle shutter die, and the dahlia flower die I was able to make this beautiful wedding card.  I just cut the dies from white card stock, colouring the flowers with alcohol markers.

The great thing about these flower dies is they can be simple like this, or inked. layered and shaped for more realistic looking blooms!

Once I have die cut the circle shutter, I then used a stencil to emboss the background for a bit of texture.

I glued and layered everything together with a sentiment from the tying the knot stamp set (also from Polkadoodles) which was white heat embossed onto black card for a bold look.

I hope you like it - please do check out this release over on the polkadoodles webstie.

I'd like to enter this into:

Thanks for any messages you leave. It always makes me smile to read them.  You can also follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest (links in the top right of the page)

Beautiful Anemones Chipboard and MDF project

Hello crafting friends

So sorry it's been a while posting - I have still been updating my Instagram, but neglecting my blog - I promise to try harder this year!

It's only just winter, and already I'm looking forward to Spring!  I made this cheerful decor to remind me of the fresh colours that are ahead!

Using the 'Beautiful Anemone stamp' (PD8747 on the Polkadoodles website), I stamped onto the matching chipboard shapes (also available on the website) with Versafine Clear Ink and heat embossed with rose gold powder. I then coloured each one using acrylic markers, blending the whites and purples.  I also coloured the watering can and the leafy wreath from the chipboard shapes in the same way.
From the stamp set I stamped and heat embossed in black the sentiment again onto one of the chipboard shapes

The background is one of the MDF embroidery hoops - these are amazing BTW! (PD9108)
I painted this with acrylic paint in lilac to match the flowers.  I then layered everything together using a glue gel.  It's easier than it looks, and it produces amazing projects that will have people asking if you really made it!

Tiddlyinks Molly Swims image on 5x7 card

 Hi crafting friends,

I'm back with a super cute card made using a Tiddlyinks image that I have had on my computer for ages and never used.  She's so cute, and perfect for the summer!

She is called Molly Swims and can be found on Etsy under the Tiddlyinks shop.

The backing papers are also from Etsy from a shop called Jenny L and these papers are called Secret Garden.  Again I downloaded ages ago and have not used them.

I cut the stripy paper leaving a 1-inch strip for the patterned floral paper.  The image was coloured with copics and fussy cut out.  I used a stitched circle die and placed it off the page to highlight the Molly.  The 'Hello' die is from Penny Black as is the sunshine sentiment, they are a seperate die and stamp set but work together to make phrases.  I then coloured the 'hello' in the same pink used on the rubber ring.

As a final touch, I put glossy accents onto the rubber ring and her sunglasses for a bit of shine.

She is just too cute!

I'd like to enter this into:

As you like it challenge - cute or floral I love anything cute, whether that's a cute girl or boy, or some critters.  I also love a floral, so on this card, I combined both!

Colour throw down - pink, yellow and green

Passion for markers - use a die (I used a stitched circle and a sentiment die)

A place to start - anything goes with option of add flowers

Creations in pink - mainly pink

thanks for stopping by - I hope you like my projects.  why not have a look on Instagram, interest or Facebook for more inspiration.  The links to my pages are in the top right corner.

See you all again soon.

May Flowers

Hello fellow crafters

This week I went back to the Blooming lovely USB, which is also available as a digital download.

Because they are digis you can increase the size, and angle to make a gorgeous flurry across the page.

For this one I also decoupaged it to I fussy cut those flowers that appear to be on top for extra dimension, but if you don't want to do this, you can just print the flowers along with the sentiment, cut to size and you're done  The package also comes with recoloured flowers for a really quick and simple card

I coloured it with Copics and added a black matt layer so it popped, but otherwise - a really simple but effective card, that could say anything from happy birthday to I'm sorry

I'd like to enter this into:

Allsorts - April showers bring May flowers

Kraftin Kimmie - flowers and purple

sisterhood of snarky stampers  flowers

To celebrate this, and the start of a new Polkadoodles challenge, here's this cute easter chick, re-purposed to celebrate spring.

The background is the square trellis one also from Polkadoodles with distress oxide ink in mustard seed.  The pink stamps are from the posy blooms stamps.  I then tore a strip of scrap pink paper to add interest around the sentiment

Springtime

Hello crafting friends

I just love this time after Christmas when you can put away the frosty blues, reds, and greens and pull out the pastel shades!  Spring is my favourite time of year and the colour palette we can use is just the best!

This card was made for our latest blog challenge over at Polkadoodles.  It's always anything goes, so you can be in with a chance of winning some amazing images from the lovely Nikky, but you have to be in it, to win it!

I made this using some papers from the Winnie sugar sprinkles springtime collection and that is also where the digi image is from.

She was coloured using Copics and Spectrum noir brush markers, then fussy cut out before being laid on the papers using a die from my stash.

As the sentiment was printed in black, I thought it needed another bit of black to make it pop, and found this ribbon off-cut in my drawer.

Isn't she super cute!

I'd like to enter this into:

Thank you so much for stopping by - it really makes a difference to know people are interested in my art.  Any comments, likes of follows I get are always appreciated!

Celebration Winnie

Hello crafters

Welcome to another blog challenge over at Polkadoodles, this one is anything goes, and you have a chance of winning three digi images.  There are some fab new releases too!

This time I made an Easel card using greens and yellows.  I did it to match her bottle of bubbly!

She is either a digi image or a stamp and the flowers are from the blossoming blooms collection

All coloured with copics and fussy cut, I used an A6 card to make the easel shape.  A oval die cut in jade pearlescent card to make the lovely Winnie stand out.

The flowers were then stacked behind and on the base so it all stands up, and of course a touch of stickles for sparkle!

I'd like to enter this into:

I hope you like her - I think she is perfect for any celebration!

Autumn vibe

 Hey everyone

So in case you hadn't noticed the Autumn releases are all on their way!  loads of new stamps from all companies for Autumn and Halloween.

I have a couple of cards in the next few days to share starting with this one I made for a create and craft show on behalf of Oakwood direct.

They have shows with Stampendous stamps, and I was sent this one to complete samples for.  Its a large slimline stamp called Harvest ride, but I liked the bicycle so didn't use the whole thing for this card.

I also though it would look great layered up, so I stamped it three times and coloured up sections before fussy cutting them so I could decoupage it.

It was coloured with a combo of copic markers and polychromos pencils, before I layered it, and added it to a card base with a beautiful yellow mat and layer.

The sentiment is from a Hunkydory pad with little strips you cut up.  i thought this one was perfect for the card.

I'd like to enter this into:

Krafty Chicks - all occasions

Double D - wheels/Mood board

Crafty Calender - anything goes

Taylor made cards 4 U - transport

A perfect time to craft - Anything goes

Creative crafters - Anything goes

I hope you like my card - if so please leave a bit of love either below or on on my other social media sites - to access these click on the link top right!

Fairy hugs

 Hi crafting friends

I'm popping in today to share this sweet card I made using a lili of the valley image.

Its a digi image that I printed in grey and coloured using my Spectrum noir water colour pencils and inktense water colour pencils.

I die cut a circle around it, and layered it on another tattered lace die cut (I inked the edges a little).  I also used various other dies for the background.  The papers are from Anna Marie designs.  The banner is from Elizabeth crafts design and the flowers are from my stash..

I printed some lilac spotted paper and using my graphics package, wrote the sentiment, then spaced the letters so I could cut them apart.  I finished the card with more ink and some white gesso.

Not my usual style and I did look on Pinterest for some inspiration - there are so many gorgeous cards like this, and I'd love to make more.

I hope you like it.

 Hello crafting friends

I'm back with an other new release from the fabulous Wendy Burns over all dressed up.

Thee new releases are all available on Etsy as well as lots and lots of oldie but goodie images too.  Pop over and have a look!

I used flower dreams this month.

I decided I was going to use a softer coloured look, so printed her in a lighter grey and then coloured her using only Polychromos pencils.  The digi kit in the background is one from Nitwit and I fussy cut several elements to position around her.

She is just so adorable.

Don't forget our challenge is still on going on our Facebook page - with the theme holidays (this could be summer of winter holidays too!) or our anything goes over on the blog.  as long as you use an all dressed up image!

Best teacher

 Hi Crafting friends

We have another new release over at all dressed up - including two teacher cards.  Another school year almost over!  My boy is off to high school in September - how do they grow up so fast!

For anyone who wants to send a thank you this cutie is perfect. She is called To the best teacher.

I used my copics to colour this image and cut it out using a square die.  I decided I wanted more depth to the colouring so used my polychromos pencils to add a bot of contract.  Behind the image is a lacy doily die from and some cute flowers both from Polkadoodles.

I matted and layered, added a tiny bit of sparkle and some nuvo drops.

The images look like this:

Little petal

Star teacher

To the best teacher
And they are all available here on Etsy

If you want to be in with a chance of winning one - you can also enter our blog challenge or Facebook challenges where the winner gets three cute images including the new releases!

I hope you like her!  you can look through my blog for further inspiration, or alternatively check out my Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest pages.  Links above!

The stamp is a bitty birthday sentiment stamp from MFT.  I finished the card by adding some clear glitter pen from Oakwood archer.

Sunflower

 Hello crafting friends

I thought today I would bring you a blast of sunflower yellow to brighten your day!

This cutie is from Vera Lane studios on Etsy I recently brought.  I love her and her little ladybug friend (watch this blog for the card I made with this!)

I printed her out and coloured her with copics, before fussy cutting her out.  I loved the idea she had spotty shoes so I matched my backing paper to this.  I also die cut a Kaiser craft frame and some MFT stitched flowers to add interest.  I layered everything onto a piece of black card stock, and using an acrylic paint pen added some faux stitching.

My sentiment is a Lisa Horton set that I stamped in yellow and hear embossed with clear powder.  My finishing touches were glossy accents on the shoes and flowers, as well as some yellow Nuvo drops on the flowers and dotted around for texture.

I love how cheerful this is.

I'd like to enter it into:

Allsorts challenge - Birthday

A gem of a challenge - Anything goes

Dancing Queen

Hello everyone

I'm back today, from the desk in the glittery pink craft room, I'm sharing this cutie I made using an image I won over at the Polkdoodles blog.  She is called Dancing queen and isn't she just so adorable!

As I was going through a stash of papers I came across an old 12x12 paper pad and found it had some absolutely gorgeous papers in.  I cut them into 6x6 squares and added them to my 6x6 storage.  I always forget what some lovely papers because they are a larger size, so I’m going to make an effort to use them, or like I have here, cut them up.  I tend to head for the 6inch pads more often…

I coloured this cutie using copics and layered her onto a scalloped die cut.  It’s a lawn fawn die that creates a frame, so I popped up the outer ring, but including the middle.  I matted the patterned paper, but didn’t layer it, so after I had added the image, I realised it was lacking a bit of focus around the edge.  I used an acrylic marker pen in pink to create a sketchy border.  The sentiment is from a polkadoodles stamp set.

I hope you like her!

I’d like to enter this into:

 C.R.A.F.T challenge - Anything goes

Creative knockouts - Anything goes

Moving along with the times - Birthday

The sisterhood of crafters - think pink

Digi Tuesday - Anything goes

Through the craft room door - Anything Goes

Shopping your stash - Pastels (my paper pad I rediscovered was my stashed item!)

Thanks so much for dropping by it really does mean a lot when people comment and follow me on social media.

See you soon

So happy.....

Hi Crafting friends

I’m just dropping in today to share a card I made yesterday with my latest art supply – Inktense pencils.

I’ve had my eye on them for a while but didn’t understand the difference between these and ordinary water colour, but there is a big difference!  They are so bright and saturated with colour, they give a really vibrant effect, and they spread so easily with water… I think I’m in love with them!

I also recently had a Polkadoodles splurge getting lots of their stamp sets while they were on a deal on create and craft so I paired them up to make a few pretty cards.

This is the first one I made.

Its using several different stamp sets

  • Grace weidre
  • Spring wishes
  • rainbow wishes
  • Sunburst trees

I stamped them onto a plain (but heavyweight) white cardstock using versafine black ink, then using my new pencils coloured the images in.  I then fussy cut them all out.

The background is using a i-craft DL stencil for the spots ink blended with wilted violet distress oxide.  the other stamps in the background are from Tracey Hey (the writing and circles in the background)

I then layered the flowers and my character with a combination of glue and foam pads for dimension, all finished with a sparkle pen!  Finally matted and layered onto block cardstock.

I'd like to enter this into:

Get creative - use flowers

Crafting happiness - Anything goes

Happy little stampers - anything goes watercolour (inktense pencils)

QKR stampede -Anything goes

Dare to be artsy - flowers

Flower fairy

 Hello everyone

It is time again for another ADU challenge on our friendly Facebookgroup.  Every month on the 1st we have a new theme and this month its ‘flowers’

This challenge shouldn’t be too hard to enter, after all so many of the stunning images either have flowers on them, or you can add flowers to your background or scene. Our own rule is that you must use an all dressed up image.

I chose to use magic fairy (check out Etsy for loads more images you can use) and a floral background.

I used craft artist to import some floral embellishments from a digi kit into the background, and I then added the image to my scene.  I decided I wanted a pencilled sketchy look, so I used the transparency tool and made it 70% lighter, then printed it and coloured with Copics and Polychromos pencils.

I then fussy cut her out before using foam pads to lift her off the card.

You can also enter out anything goes challenge on our blog.  This is open until the 15th of every month.  If you are not into challenges, then both Facebook and the challenge blog have loads of inspiration from the talented DT team.

I hope you like her – I think she’s super cute!

I’d like to enter this into:

Thanks for stopping by, it means a lot – especially if you comment, or follow me on FB, Instagram or Pinterest.

A day without creativity....

Hello Crafting friends

Hope that everyone out there in blogland is fit and well.  I've just gotten over COVID.  I did well though I haven’t had it all all since the start of the pandemic, despite working all the way through in retail, but it finally caught up with me.  Feeling much better now!

To cheer everyone up - I though I would share this cutie I made using a digi stamp from Vera Lane, some flowers from a Julie Hickey set, and finally a sentiment and background detail from a Tracey Hey stamp set.

I stamped and printed and the images before colouring them using Copic markers. I used white gel pen for added detail.

I cut a piece of card stock to 6 x 6 inches and scored in half to make a mini slimline card. On the background, I added mustard seed distress oxide ink through a dotty stencil, and using my black ink, stamped the detail down the side. (From the Tracey Hey stamp set called ‘a day without creativity’).

I then layered the flowers on the background before adding the girl. It’s all stuck together with glue and foam pads.

I finally stamped the sentiment at the side in black also and added some Nuvo drops for black spots in the background to add texture and interest.

I hope you like it!
