Sending loads of love

 Hi Everyone

So.... my Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest accounts are all set and I'm now posting across all social media - get me keeping up with the 'young uns'!

Just dropping in to share a quick card I made using newtons nook stamps (check below for full list of ingredients)

I saw this and could not resist this cute digger set.  I'm always struggling for male cards and what man or boy doesn't love a digger or truck!!

I recently donated all of my cards to be sold in a local shop.  We are splitting the profit 50:50 but I am donating my share to the West Midlands Air Ambulance, so I need to restock my drawers and I always need extra men's cards.

Card makers out there I'm sure you feel my pain when I say, men's cards are the hardest!

Anyway - here it is...

Ingredient list

Newton Nook stamps - Love Quarry

Copic markers and Spectrum noir triblend brush markers

Orange plain and some stripy orange cards stock from my stash

plain circle die

I stamped the images with lawn fawn Alcohol marker friendly ink pad, and coloured with a combination of Copics and spectrum noir triblend brush markers, and fussy cut them out.  I also used the cone stamp to stamp the background using Lawn Fawn Jelly fish and Carrot ink pads.  I wanted inspiration so I typed in card sketches into my browser and found a set up I liked and then using glue and foam squares, assembled the card.

I hope you like it!

Please check out my other social media pages, like, share and follow, and if you want to leave a comment below, I love to read them..

Thank you Teacher

Happy Friday everyone

Its almost the weekend, thank heavens, it's been a long week and I am certainly looking forward to some craft time over the weekend!

For my first project post, I thought I would share a card I made for my sons teacher to say thank you.  The list of things I used is listed below.

My colouring was with a combination of Copic markers and the new Spectrum noir tri-blend brush markers.  I highly recommend them!

I wanted it to be bright and stand out among her other cards so I used primary colours to make it pop.  It was a tricky shape to photograph as I wanted to get in all the detail as well as the dimension...

I just adore all of those cute characters, they are simply perfect, and Harry's teacher loved it too!

Ingredient list

Mama elephant Slim scenescape builder die and  bookworm stamps

Lawn fawn - Good apple

Copics and spectrum noir brush tip triblender pens

Memento ink

cardstock from my stash

I'd like to enter this into

New blog and Social Media accounts

 Hello!

Welcome to my new blog and set of social media accounts.  I figured it was time once again to dip my toe into the digital world and stop being a hermit!

My old blog is still available but as I haven't posted in two years I figured it was time to start again. If you want to check out some of my older work then go to www.allthingspurpleandsparkly.blogspot.co.uk

As my profile says, I've been card making for a very long time, I started making my own wedding invites, with a bit of stamping and embossing and it all went from there.  A small shoe box grew to a plastic tote box, to a set of shelves (I can hear fellow crafters nodding!) and suddenly the dining room wasn't big enough and I converted a bedroom with a small desk.... and this continued.  We even moved house and I adopted a bigger craft room, but before long I couldn't find anything, brought duplicates because I forgot I already had it, and general had a mess everywhere, which made me sad and I lost my crafty mojo for a while....

My lovely and extremely understanding husband, Matt stepped in and told me if I designed my perfect craft room, he would build it...

After multiple  trips to Ikea, and browsing you tube/Pinterest for hours on end, I finally came up with a design that would hold everything I need as well as space to grow, but would be organised, and tidy.

The result is my beautiful pink craft room.  Its not glittery per say, but it does have glitter everywhere as I cant resist a bit of sparkle on a card!  Crafters out there know that once the glitter tub is open, its also everywhere (including on the dogs fur!)  hence my new name of 'The glittery pink craft room'

Here's a few photos (it was in use for projects at the time so still a little messy) but you get the idea....

This is my desk space.  on my right I have some Alex drawers and a huge pegboard with all my essentials on it (as well as some grab items on the desk)

Here is my wall of goodies.  these are billy bookcases filled with cardstock, paper kits, stamps, dies and other crafty bits and pieces.  the pink chair is extra space when people visit, or if Harry wants to join me for some colouring fun!

This is the view back towards my desk.  You can see I used a KALLAX unit underneath it to store fabrics and mixed media items.  behind my is a bigger Kallax unit with ink pads, Copics and other alcohol markers.  Also on here is my 12x12 Papers and in the cupboards there is a variety of inks and other goodies.  On the inside of these cupboards I have magnetic sheets to store those dies I use all the time (mainly circles and rectangle dies)

Right at the back behind my door you can see a spice rack I use for storing ink sprays, glitter glues and nuvo drops, and along the left hand side, I have a bank of ikea drawers with kitchen cabinets above.  My trolleys I use for storing more stamps and the one with the top doubles as my scan and cut station.

Stop by again soon as the inspiration will start to be posted of the pretty things that get made in here.  If you want to follow me, the link is on the right of the page, I'd love to see you and any comments you have, I read every one (even if I don't answer them) and it truly makes my day when they light up my inbox!. Also I have linked social media pages on the right,(Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest) if you're interested. watch this space......

lots of crafty hugs
